Will Shart work with any size T-shirt?
Our 11x14 Shart frame works best with Youth Medium to Youth X-Large T-shirts and Adult Medium to Adult XXL T-shirts. It does not work for most Youth Small or Adult Small shirts.
We are currently developing a 10x13 frame that will work with youth and adult small T-shirts.
Will Shart work with EVERY T-Shirt logo?
No, please see the next question.
How do I measure to see if my T-shirt logo will fit in the frame?
Please see the diagram below and verify that both A and B are correct before you order:
A. The top of the logo for your t-shirt must be at least 3 inches below the stitching for the neckline. If it is less than 3", your logo may not be centered in the frame.
B. The logo for your t-shirt must be no larger than 13 inches tall by 10 inches wide (PORTRAIT LOGO) OR 10 inches tall by 13 inches wide (LANDSCAPE LOGO). If it is larger than these dimensions, the entire logo may not fit in the viewing area of the frame.
Do you Ship Shart Everywhere?
Yes. Please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for international orders and let us know the quantity of Sharts® you are interested in and the shipping destination. International transactions are managed by PayPal.
Which credit cards do you accept and do you accept debit cards?
We accept Discover, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and PayPal and we also accept debit cards as form of payment.
Do you charge sales tax?
We do not charge sales tax if you are outside of the state of Kentucky. However, if you are shipping an order to Kentucky, sales tax will be included on your order. If you are in the state of Kentucky and have a tax exempt certificate, please contact our customer service department for details regarding placing orders.
Can I order custom frame sizes?
No. Our frames are only made 11" x 14".
Are there discounts if I buy in bulk?
Yes. We offer volume discounts starting at ten frames. If you are interested in purchasing 20 or more frames, please email us at email@example.com.
Is the Shart frame shipped ready to hang?
YES. The frame will arrive with two saw-tooth hangers nailed into the back of the frame so you can hang your piece of Shart either horizontally (portrait) or vertically (landscape).
Why do you use polyethylene for the Shart insert?
We use closed-cell, non-crosslinked polyethylene foam for our insert because it is completely recyclable, acid-free, ideal for conservation purposes and has a proven performance record in Museums and Galleries. Polyethylene is non-dusting, non-toxic, odorless and resists mildew. The polyethylene in Shart is recommended by the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections, the Smithsonian, the Museums and Galleries Commission and the Natural History Museum.
We hold confidentiality in the highest regard. We never distribute your e-mail address or other information to third parties.
Most orders are shipped within 2-3 business days. In the event of an unexpected delay, you will be notified promptly.

Our goal is to ship your Shart out the following business day. We will email a tracking number to let you know when your order has shipped and will follow up once your frame is received. Returns, Lost or Damaged Items
Shart stands behind its product and has gone to great lengths to make sure you receive your order in perfect condition. If you are not sure that our products will meet your needs, please contact us for more information before placing an order.
In the event there is a problem with the order due to our error, please notify us within 7 days of receipt so we can issue a call-tag to get the
incorrect merchandise back to us and your corrected order shipped right out to you.
Please report all damage claims to the shipper and Shart.com within 48 hours by emailing us and sending a photo and description of the damage. Damage claims must be submitted immediately so that we can pursue a damage claim with the shipper. We will ship replacements as quickly as possible at our expense using the same shipping option selected on the original order. For Express Shipping of replacements you must pay for the cost difference between Ground and Express.
If for any reason you are not satisfied with the merchandise purchased from Shart.com, you may return* the item (s) within 14 days from the date the order was shipped. Once received in excellent condition, you will receive a refund for the cost of the item (s) returned minus a 20% restocking fee. All refunds for purchases made by credit card will be in the form of a credit to the same card used for the original purchase. Before returning an item, please email email@example.com for a Return Merchandise Authorization code (RMA).
The customer is responsible for all return shipping charges unless it was our shipping error.
All unsolicited returns will not be considered for a refund.
Do You Ship "Signature Required"?
We do not ship "signature required" unless you ask for it. If you want your order shipped "signature required" put "SHIP SIGNATURE REQUIRED" in the special instructions box during checkout. Please note: the shipping company is not liable for the order once it has been delivered.
A note about our packaging and the environment...
Our packaging has been engineered to provide the best protection for our frames while using the smallest amount of packaging materials as possible. Our boxing is plain brown cardboard as opposed to the bleach white packaging that adds bleach and dye waste to the environment. We also try to reuse any cardboard materials that come to us on freight lines. Please join us in helping the Earth by recycling your packaging material once you have received your frame.
Can I purchase additional foam inserts for other frames or projects?
One foam insert is included with every Shart frame!
Additional foam inserts for other frames or projects are $6.95 which includes shipping. The foam insert can easily be cut to different sizes using scissors.
This proprietary, engineer-designed polyethylene insert is completely recyclable, non-dusting, non-toxic and recommended by the Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections.

In general, they LOVE them! Customers frequently contact us to let us know how thrilled they are with their Sharts. We also send our customers an email survey after they receive their Sharts. What is the order process?
It's as easy as 1,2,3!
1. You place your order on our website or by phone (626) 247-4278.
2. We send you a mailing kit with everything you need to package your shirts, including a pre-paid return mailing label addressed to us. Attach the label to the bag we provide and drop your package off at any UPS Drop Off location.
3. We receive your shirts, upcycle them and ship back your custom product in a few short weeks. It’s that easy!
How long does it take to upcycle my shirt?
We usually finish your upcycled product within two weeks of receiving your shirts. Rush orders can be completed in as little as two days. Christmas and graduation are our busy seasons, so it may take a little longer during these times.
The items for my Shart are special. How does Shart ease my worries?
This is where Shart excels! We know your t-shirts are special to you, so we want you to be as comfortable as possible during the process. Shart uses UPS to ship packages so we can track your package during shipping. We also email you at every stage, from the safe arrival of your shirts to the departure of your finished Shart gear, with tracking numbers and other pertinent information. We won't keep you guessing.
Can I wash my Shart?
Yes. All of our T-shirt products are washable except for our Shart T-Shirt Frame. Seems obvious to say, but you never can be too careful. All our T-Shirt products are made of your t-shirts and are as washable as the materials selected to go in them. Having said that, great care has gone into stitching your Shart and we suggest treating it as gently as you would the most sensitive fabric in it. Shart products that are made of pre-washed cotton t-shirts can be machine washed with cold water and line dried.
**Note for Shart Pillows – We recommend putting three new tennis balls in the dryer along with the pillow so the stuffing maintains its form and comfort.
What kind of pillow insert is used for the Pillow Cover?
We use the United Pillow Perma Soft Polyester pillow insert (14”x14” and 16’x16”). It is a very soft conjugated extra slick hollow poly that is smooth and light after being processed on state of the art equipment that opens the fiber close to 100%. This fiber is extra smooth and light. Feel: very soft, very bouncy, resilient, smooth and durable. Good for throw pillows and back cushions.
